The Initiative To Eliminate Statelessness

About Us

The Initiative to Eliminate Statelessness is a regional initiative concerned with the rights of stateless persons and those at risk of statelessness. Launched in 2017 by Warsheh Team for Advocacy and Documentation, a non-profit organization registered in France, the initiative seeks to abolish the discriminatory legislation against women to be able to grant their nationality to their children as a primary cause for the spread of statelessness.

Our Goals

The Initiative to Eliminate Statelessness addresses the problem of statelessness resulting from discriminatory legislation against women regarding granting their nationality.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of local communities and local and international organizations through research studies, advocacy campaigns, and awareness sessions.
It works on mobilizing international support to remove statutory discrimination against women regarding granting their nationality to their children who are at risk of statelessness and accordingly secure their official documents.
The initiative also demands targeting stateless people with humanitarian aid programs and prioritizing measures against discriminatory legislation and statelessness in the peace and justice agenda.

Our vision

A society where all members, men and women, have equal rights in terms of nationality granting, and that does not deprive any member of their right to citizenship.
